The 2021 drop rams were run on the Lucerne over the spring and summer. The more than average summer rainfall allowed the rams to run on the Lucerne much longer than normal, which provided more cost effective growth in the rams. The rams were taken off the lucerne and run on the native country. This country previously had cattle through it to open up the grass canopy and allowed a fresh pick to come through. This grass preparation was critical as it has now provided ideal feed for the rams in the late summer and early autumn. These rams will be classed in the coming weeks and run on the native country until mid/late April.
